Are you new to the horse world and want to know about showing your horse? The Waukesha County 4-H Horse Project will have many clinics and educational opportunities throughout the year, and has many experienced leaders and parents that can help guide you as you go. However, there are many details that you may not know to ask about.
We have created a comprehensive Horse Show Manual that will walk you step-by-step through how to prepare for a show, what different types of events there are, what is expected for each class, and more! A PDF copy is available through the link on the right. Paper copies will be available at the annual mandatory meeting or anytime by request.
Wisconsin 4-H Equestrian Guidelines
The Wisconsin 4-H Horse Association has a document of Equestrian Guidelines detailing rules, expectations, and scoring criteria for county and state level 4-H pleasure shows.
Wisconsin 4-H Educational Guidelines
Are you interested in showing off your talents outside of the show ring? The 4-H Horse Project also has opportunities for your to show off your creative side, with show events for art, woodworking, photography, creative writing, posters, hippology (horse knowledge), public speaking, and more!
Wisconsin 4-H Horse Association Scholarship
Are you continuing with post-high school education? Members with at least four years of project experience may apply for the Wisconsin 4-H Horse Association scholarship, regardless of major they are pursuing.

Do you want to know why one horse places above another? Learn what the judges are looking for in basic conformation, halter horse expectations per breed, and performance horse classes.

Midwest Horse Fair
The Midwest Horse Fair is the top 3-day horse fair in America. Held in Madison, Wisconsin at the Alliant Energy Center, it has been growing and going strong since 1979. Whether you are a seasoned horse professional, new horse owner, or horse admirer, there is something for everyone to enjoy at the Midwest Horse Fair.

Every year the Midwest Horse Fair gets bigger & better, and this year will be no exception! The Midwest Horse Fair is owned by the Wisconsin Horse Council, Inc. All proceeds from the Fair are returned to the WHC and are used to represent and foster a unified equine industry in Wisconsin, to promote the equine through leadership, education, service, and communication, and to take a proactive role in the future growth and development of the equine industry.
